Upload every 6 hours on Instagram
The ultimate challenge (for me)
In my video, I addressed my challenge that I uploaded a picture every 6 hours. To be honest, it was wrecking my guts. I set an alarm at 6h in the morning, 12h midday, 6h in the evening and 12h midnight. I had no problems in the beginning. I started my challenge in the weekend after all my work and school was done. I prepared a few photos that were ready to be uploaded. As the days passed by, my premade work was already uploaded and I was having less and less content to bring on my feed.
So when I woke up, I uploaded my photo. I tried to answer my followers in the comment section, in the meanwhile I was thinking of my next upload that had to be ready in 5 hours.
After 3 days my schedule was only about Instagram. When I slept, ate or took my photo's all depended on my upload schedule. I felt like a machine, attached to my phone. Closing and opening apps. Once I was done with my task, I had to go on the next one. In one week I had to get 28 pictures photographed, edited and uploaded. I started making mistakes in my upload schedule. I was too tired to wake up. I was too tired to cook my meals. So I only ate ready-made meals, some takeaway or skipped a few meals. This stress and unhealthy food led to skin inflammation and an acne breakout on my skin
.
So after one week, I gave up. After a moment at my work, I needed to work longer than planned. I had to crawl in the toilets to get my post uploaded on Instagram, that was the moment, I really had enough.
It did gave me +1k followers over 1 week. But to get to 1 million followers I did this calculation;
1 week = + 1K followers
1 year (52 weeks) = + 52k followers
1.000.000
/ 52.000 (1 year)
--------------
19.230 (19 years)
So euhm, yes, I might get there in 19 years. If Instagram would still exist...
But no thank you. This challenge was exhausting and it was haunting me. I’m happy i did this challenge to see what it could bring me.
It brought me nightmares, for sure.
So what did I learn?
It is possible to get more followers by posting a lot of photos for your content. It does require a big sacrifice.
